Visual Arts

Visual arts education is a critical component in the development of self-expression, critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving and is,
therefore, part of every child’s experience at Welsh Hills School. Care is taken to include open-ended art production, the elements of art, art history,
art criticism, and aesthetics in the curriculum for all ages at developmentally appropriate levels.

The Toddler Program has art-making materials available on a child accessible shelf in the classroom with frequent additional opportunities to participate in more targeted art activities with a teacher.

The Children’s House preschool classroom art materials are rotated frequently in order to maintain interest and to expand the experience for students.

Kindergarten through middle school students participate in a more formal art education program in the art studio.
