​• Swiftie Camp
Week 1 - June 9 - 13

Swiftie Camp is a week-long, half-day camp designed for young Taylor Swift fans to celebrate their love of music, creativity, and friendship! Each morning, campers will dive into fun Swiftie-inspired activities, including making friendship bracelets, designing their own songwriting journals, and crafting themed art projects.
They’ll explore Taylor’s iconic eras through music, games, and creative storytelling and even try their hand at writing their own lyrics. With plenty of singing, dancing, and Swiftie spirit, this camp is the perfect place to make new friends and create unforgettable summer memories!
Grades: Rising 3-6 graders

Annika Kanuckel-Wolfe is thrilled to be leading Swiftie Summer Camp! Annika has been listening to Taylor Swift since she was in third grade — belting out the lyrics on the school bus with her sister and her friends. Annika is currently the Upper Elementary teacher at Welsh Hills School. Get ready for a week of singing, dancing, crafting, storytelling, friendship-bracelet making, and all the fearless fun a Swiftie could ask for!

• Cooking Camp
Week 1 - Monday, June 9 & Tuesday, June 10
Full day 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This cooking camp is a two-day specialty camp to teach your child how to cook simple things. Campers will be making chocolate bars, marinara sauce, pasta, and some easy-to-make snacks like hummus, and Tanghulu (Japanese candied fruit). Each young chef will be going home with an apron they decorated, recipes, and of course, snacks to share!

Liz Ruth is a Chef at Vaso in Dublin, a long-time home cook, the daughter of a retired English chef, and mother of River, a rising first-grader.
Liz has always wanted to make sure kids can cook when they leave school and strike out on their own. She has worked with her daughter to teach her how to cook and looks forward to helping your child start or expand their kitchen journey.

• Performing Arts Camp

Zack is a member of Clowns Of America International and on the Board of Directors at Millersport Community Theatre. He is excited to bring theatrical arts to life at summer camp!

• Clown Town

Learn the art of clowning around from a professional clown, Wacky Zacky! Campers will learn how to apply clown makeup, make balloon animals, do magic tricks, and plenty of other skills in this jam-packed jamboree.

• First LEGO League Robotics
Week 2 - June 16 - 20 (No Camp June 19)

Build and program LEGO robots to complete missions using an official FIRST LEGO League Challenge set. Whether you're new to LEGO robotics or have prior experience, you'll learn new building and coding skills while having fun solving FLL challenges. Campers will use the LEGO Spike Prime robotics kits and learn how to use tilt and color sensors and programming techniques for robot success. No prior experience is required.

Karen Lepper has taught math, science, and robotics at WHS for 13 years. She has been a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) coach since 2003 and has also coached high school teams for the Robofest competition since 2005.
Before becoming a teacher, she worked in systems design and computer programming and is enthusiastic about sharing engineering and robotics with students.

• Messy Art Camp
Week 3 - June 23 - 27

Calling all young artists! Dive into a world of vibrant colors and endless possibilities as we explore the messy side of art. Let your imagination run wild and create masterpieces that reflect your unique style! This camp is a must for all who don't mind making a mess with paint, shaving cream, and more! Campers are asked to wear old clothing because it will get messy. Be prepared for a fun, interactive experience with a variety of materials!

Brenda Bova is a veteran staff member of Welsh Hills. She earned her BFA in fine arts at Columbus College of Art and Design and Art Therapy at the Harding Hospital Internship. Due to her love for both art and healing, she enjoys working with others to express themselves in creative ways and having fun doing so! Known for her Pokemon and Messy Art Camps, Brenda is excited to be offering these camps at Welsh Hills Summer Camp!

• Art Adventure: Clay Camp
Weeks 5 & 6 - July 7 -11, 14-18

Join our two-week Clay Camp to explore the art of clay! Campers will learn hand-building techniques, wheel throwing, kiln firing, glazing, and more. Create and bring home one unique, fired masterpiece!

Paige Hashman is a professional artist from Mount Vernon, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art with a focus in Sculpture from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2021. She has worked extensively in clay since graduation, using it as her main inspiration for creating.

• Aspiring Authors Writing Workshop

Find Your Voice!
​Do you enjoy creative writing? Do you have stories you can't wait to tell? Join us for a week-long adventure in writing! Our Writing Workshop is tailored to inspire creativity, foster self-expression, and ignite a passion for writing. The program emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and the development of a personal writing style through each author's unique voice.
Campers will have the chance to write across various genres, gaining new insights into the craft of writing. This camp welcomes writers of all levels of experience, ensuring an inclusive and encouraging environment for everyone involved.

Campers receive a dedicated writing journal for inscribing all their amazing inspirations, ideas, and stories, as well as a bound copy of the Aspiring Authors' published tales from the week!

Shelli Drumm is the Head of School at WHS. She has proudly served as Welsh Hills School's Power of the Pen Coach since 2017, with WHS writers advancing to Regional level competitions every year and participating in State level tournaments four separate times. Since joining the staff in 2013, she has taught English Language Arts to students from first grade through high school at Welsh Hills School.
Shelli loves being a part of developing young authors' writing skills and encouraging writers to find their inner voice. Everyone has stories to tell, and Shelli looks forward to helping campers tell theirs!

• Pokemon Camp
Week 8 - July 28 -August 1

Discover the secrets of Pokémon while creating the ultimate team! Find out how to most effectively battle your friends so you can come out on top! Join in Pokémon card games using your own decks.
​
You’ll also learn how to take your Pokémon battle skills to the next level by learning what Pokémon types and moves are effective against your opponents. Each day, learn new and improved ways to utilize your Pokémon team to its full potential. You’re welcome to bring your favorite Pokémon cards to present at camp!
