Partners in Education (PIE)

PIE is a volunteer group run by the parents/guardians from Welsh Hills School and is dedicated to supporting the family/community component of the Welsh Hills academic experience.

As a parent or guardian of a child attending Welsh Hills, you are automatically a member of
Partners in Education. Michelle Swartz and Cipriano Martinez will serve as co-presidents of PIE,
and we have prepared a few things you may want to know.

PIE operations include:
• organization of parent/guardian community-building events
• collaborating with the administration on parent/guardian education events
• administering small fundraisers
• coordinating volunteers for larger fundraising efforts
• serving as a conduit for organizing school logistical support

Additionally, PIE hopes to tap the professional/vocational talents of parents and guardians within the Welsh Hills School community to establish mentorship opportunities, contacts for Capstone projects, and work-shadow programs.

Our goals are ambitious, but we know the remarkable parents/guardians who make up our PIE community, so we can achieve great things!

FAQs
Who is a member of  PIE?
All parents/guardians of an enrolled student, as well as all faculty/staff/administrators of WHS.

When does PIE meet and how?
Meetings are likely to take place every other month or more frequently as necessary.

How can I help PIE achieve its goals?
Attending meetings or reading minutes to ensure you are up to date on PIE happenings is great. Volunteering to help with events or service is invaluable.

Most importantly, getting to know the families in your students’ cohort, specifically, and the school, generally, will help build the supportive community we want for all our children.
