by extending the child’s education to include the creative, experimental
and practical use of knowledge.”

— Catherine Naul, founder of Welsh Hills School

About us.

Founded in 1979, Welsh Hills School, the only independent school in Licking County, serves children from 18 months through grade 12. Through our foundation in Montessori philosophy, students experience education in an environment that encourages creativity and nurtures a natural love of learning.

Located on 11 acres, Welsh Hills makes use of school gardens, a greenhouse, and the outdoors to foster a relationship and appreciation for nature and the land.

We enhance our Montessori Early Childhood Program as well as our school-age program with additional offerings such as Spanish, music, visual and performing arts, robotics, coding, organic gardening, and an award-winning global education program; these special programs expand and enrich our academic curriculum.
